Botanica, The Wichita Gardens
Botanica, The Wichita Gardens was opened in 1987 as a cooperation between the Wichita Area Garden Council and the City of Wichita. Initially it had four nurseries and presently incorporates 17.6 sections of land (7.12 hectares) of greenhouses situated at 701 North Amidon, Wichita, Kansas, USA. They are city-possessed as a feature of the Wichita Park System and are worked by Botanica, Inc. a non-benefit 501(c)3.
The nurseries include: an oceanic assortment; butterfly garden and 2,880 square foot (270 m2) butterfly house highlighting pansy displays throughout the colder time of year; nursery for tropical plants; juniper assortment with in excess of 30 sorts of junipers; peony assortment of 104 cultivars; pinetum; rock garden with sedum and sempervivum; rose garden with in excess of 350 rose plants; tangible nursery; Shakespearean nursery; forests with azaleas, dogwoods, elm, hackberry, honey beetle, mulberry, osage orange, and redbuds; and Xeriscape showing garden.
Botanica opened the Downing Children’s Garden in July 2011 and highlights a few themed regions including the beast woods, lizard stream, granddaddy’s melodic labyrinth, a rainbow and sunflower wellspring and square.
Another occasions place opened in 2014 which will hold 299 individuals in seats or 240 at tables.
